Happy Birthday

Yes we are on vacation but I thought I'd brave the dial-up connection to wish Mr. Walken a happy 62nd birthday. Let's all sing along...

Happy... Birthday to You
Happy Birthday... to ... You
Happy Birthday Christopher Walken
Happy Birth...day to... You.

Okay the impersonation via text doesn't quite work but remember I'm on dial-up, cut me some slack.

When we get back to the real world of broadband we'll have plenty of photos.

Helena's Amazing Discovery

Helena pulled Lisa into the living room this weekend to share the startling discover she had made.

Sid has nipples.

I'm not sure which is more remarkable the inquisitiveness of Helena or the submissiveness of Obsidian.

And don't forget to watch the show
House on Tuesday night. Yes you likely already missed it but tune in next week. Fox seems to have a bad habit of cancelling the good shows.

Springtime.

Ahh Springtime.

When a not so young mans thoughts turn to...
Cadbury's Caramel Eggs.

It seems someone clued Ma Nature to the date on the calendar and right on cue Sunday was a beautiful day. So what do we do here In The Schutte House? Well before playing far too much Burn Out3 on the Xbox, we head down to the park. Helena's been reticent to ride her new bike but she couldn't resist the chance to circle the pond at the Park.

It took her a bit of time to get the hang of it but on flat ground she's got the hang of it. Who knows by summer we might drop the training wheels. Okay, not likely.

Of course Megan, our nearly ever-smiling daughter had a blast as well.

Megan does indeed have two teeth and by the amount of drool, there must be more soon on the way. That's great news because she is taking to real solid food with a fervor. Thursday Meg has her 9 month appointment and if we expect to hear all is going well with our slightly smaller than average baby. The next big milepost would appear to be crawling but she may surprise us with an understandable word before then (Personally I think she signed cup today asking for her water but I wouldn't testify too it)

Other news I'm dropping my self-imposed gag order on any topics political. Don't run away just yet though I'll keep it brief. Unless you purposely have been avoiding the news or have been exclusively been glued to the MJ circus you've heard far too much about the whole Terri Schiavo case. Know matter where you find yourself on the Right-to-Die issue, please spend a moment and read this bit to understand why I'm totally disgusted with the hypocrisy of the current administration.
I'll just leave it at that.

Just a few links

...
Greetings all, I'd like to pass along a few links tonight in hopes that tomorrow I'll be able to give a real update (where real is defined as a post with pictures).
First the links-

The first is a personality type theory page. While I am skeptical of the whole concept (but wouldn't a INTp be skeptical?) it's a fascinating idea and the site is run by a friend of mine so check it out.

The second site is pretty self explanatory. We're already starting prepping for the SATs here at the house.

Engadget is quickly replacing Slashdot as my favorite tech site. Likely few of you have every heard of either but the nerds in your life know what I'm talking about.

And now that The West Wing is the only campaigning we have to/get to suffer through I thought it was safe to toss in this old standby because the whole liberal verses conservative is overplayed. The real question is where are you on the authoritarian verses libertarian scale?

Otherwise, we're all doing fine. Megan's tooth is soon to have a neighbor. Helena has really good aim with a soccer ball. Lisa & I are looking forward to our upcoming family vacation. And you, dear reader will have to await pictures 'til the morrow.

News Flash!

News Flash!

We now bring you live to In The Schutte House news desk for this special annoucement

I almost spent the 10 minutes to grab the over used scrolling headline effect but really would anyone have appreciated the effort? Especially you folks on dial-up, it would have taken even more time to load the page and what's the point of telling folks you've got big news and then have them just wait and wait till they read it? People would start to think maybe it wasn't such big news and you're just jerking them around. Oh I'm on...

I'm Tom and welcome to In the Schutte House
for this special announcement.

In recent days we brought you news that Megan was close to getting her first tooth. She had all the classic signs, irritability, excessive drooling and near constant chewing but there was no definitive proof. Well now were certain and we have pictures.

Click on the image for a large version
These images were obtained last night before Megans night feeding. I noted there was a something in there and after some fanagling we got photos.
Here is a close up with enhancement to help highlight the newly erupted tooth.

You can just make out the lower right central tooth there and one can certainly feel it.
So there you have. Megan got her first tooth March 2nd 2005.

And for those here in Wilmington, Lowes Foods has Rex Goliath wines on sale for $7 a bottle.

Here's a few more photos...

I've also gotten word that the comment section here has been out of order. If you would try leaving one and e-mail us if it doesn't work.
Thanks

Trivia moment

What four seasons song could possible have a tie in to a post on our little blog?

December '63 of course.
Don't get it? Maybe you know the song as Oh what a night.

Still lost? Don't worry it's likely because I'm half brain dead (Which is bad when you generally only have half a brain). Last night Megan decided she didn't want to sleep. Sure there are times when we'll hear her chatting to herself early in the morning. There are also those times when for one reason (gas) or another (teething) she wakes up at oh'dark-thirty and need to be rocked for a few minutes to get her back to sleep. Last night however there would be not quick putting Megan back to sleep. From about 11 o'clock until 3am Megan decided she didn't want to sleep, nor did she want to be put down and topping it off for much of that time she didn't want me to sit down.

Today she's fine though and I'm recovering. Thank goodness Helena let me sleep this morning until about 7.

While up last night while Megan would let me I did some touching up on Michael's website, Moonlighting. Likely everything is going to be changed and it's still not polished but check it out. If anyone out there needs a server to host there web site on or wants a snazzy domain name check out the link at the bottom for 1 to 1 hosting. If you sign up Mike gets a small cut (it has to be small they only charge like $5 a month)

That brings me to the other white elephant on the bottom of the screen. Notice the Amazon banner. If anyone ever wanted to donate a buck or two to the InTheSchutteHouse team, we are now accepting most major credit cards.
